Content Studio

The Flow Content Studio package is an interview-based article and social media writing and publishing service (similar to ghostwriting).

It’s designed for entrepreneurs, consultants, and executives who want to write and publish ideas and stories in their words and in their voice—but don’t have the time or interest to type it themselves.

What’s included in the Content Studio Package?

Content Studio includes everything you need to validate and develop your ideas, write and edit them, design and publish them, and get them out to the world.

WRITER THAT’S SOURCED FOR YOU

  • We’ll source a writer specifically for you so that you have someone who understands your context.
  • Contextual understanding is key to someone “getting it” so your writer will not need to ask clarifying questions but can instead focus on extracting your wisdom.

QUARTERLY EDITORIAL CALENDAR

  • We will conduct topic and keyword research to come up with an initial set of ideas for you to write about. The research will be backed with data including monthly search volume and difficulty in ranking on page 1 of Google.
  • You and your Writer will come up with article ideas and document the concept in an ‘Idea Swipe File’ inside your quarterly editorial calendar. These ideas will be discussed in your quarterly edcal meeting to finalize which 12 articles will be worked on in the upcoming quarter. Each article will be added to a professional quarterly editorial calendar with deadlines.
  • You determine whether you will be interviewed for each article or if you’d like it to be researched and ghostwritten on its own.
  • Once you have finalized all the articles for the quarter, we will put them into an order that provides a story arch.
  • Your Writer will create an outline for each of the 12 articles and will send each outline to you in advance of your interview so that you can be prepared.
  • If you’re working with PR firm, we can also send them the outlines so they can pitch your articles to the media. If they do not land media coverage, we will publish to your blog.

PUBLISHED ARTICLES & SOCIAL MEDIA

  • Conduct interviews to get expertise out of your head OR
  • Research and ghostwrite the articles for you
  • Turn your interviews into long-form articles
  • Create status updates for relevant social media platforms

CUSTOM GRAPHICS

  • We can either pick from an album of photos you provide or from stock photography
  • Design an article header image
  • Create images for social media

How the Content Studio Process Works

1. Content Strategy Consult

The first step—before you build your brand—is to make sure you actually have a purpose for the content, and determine whether our method is the right one for you.

To do this, you will speak with a Content Strategist who will help you get clear on three things:

  • Your content’s purpose
  • The audience you’re trying to reach (and how your content will serve them)
  • The objectives you hope your content will help you achieve (like building your business, or using a platform to support causes you believe in)

Note that this is not a sales call. This is about determining whether your brand has a purpose and whether our company is the right fit to help you build it.

Our process does not work for everyone. If we determine that we’re not a good fit for each other, we’ll happily refer you to a service or company that can meet your needs.

2. Assemble your Content Team

To begin the process, you’ll meet with your Writer. Your Writer will be your main point of contact and will work directly with you on all content.

Your writer’s job is to create high-quality content for you that’s published on time.

Prior to the introduction call, we’ll send you a questionnaire if you’re starting as a new client with us. For clients who have worked with us on their Brand Platform and/or Brand Website, we’ve already got you covered.

We'll also send you our Client Work Guidelines so you know exactly what to expect at every stage.

3. Kickstart

On your first call with Flow, your writer will start creating a direction for your content.

This will be similar to a Content Strategy call but will go into much greater depth to accomplish these things:

  • Specifically articulate what you want to write about / teach your audience
  • Define exactly who your audience is
  • Understand precisely how your content will serve that audience and why they will care about it
  • Specifically articulate how you will use the content to benefit you

4. Editorial Calendar Planning

Once the direction of your content is properly framed, they will schedule your first quarterly editorial calendar planning meeting.

Prior to this meeting, our apprentices will research your keywords so that you and your writer are able to use those to come up with topics. You can of course come up with other topics that aren’t related to keywords.

During the meeting, you’ll go through each idea written down by you and your writer and you’ll either approve, reject, or mark ideas “work on it”.

The purpose is to finalize a list of articles for the quarter.

Your writer will then organize the articles in an order that makes sense to create a story arch and will then write outlines for each article so you know the point and supporting points for each article.

5. Writing

Your writer will then schedule an interview with you, if applicable, or will begin ghostwriting. These interviews are exactly what they sounds like: interviews where you’re asked questions and what you say is then transcribed, edited, and turned into content.

Or if you’re going to be quoted in the article, the writer will take the themes from your conversation and will write the article while adding your quotes to them.

Another option is that your writer simply researches and ghostwrites the article themselves and sends it to you for final edits.

6. Graphics

Once your article and social media posts are finalized, the article is sent to our graphic designers. They will digest your article and come up with graphics, following your Brand Platform, to ensure a visual look that works perfectly for the article and your brand.

Graphics are sized according to each platform so that they are customized and look native to that platform.

7. Distribution

Finally, our operations team will post your article on your blog and schedule your social media posts for distribution.

Distribution is spread out so that your audience is typically hearing from you once a day for a week on that particular article.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Who is the author of the articles: me or my writer?
It’s completely your choice. Typically, when clients are interviewed for an article, the client is either the author and the article is written in the first person, or the writer is the author and the article is written like a press article where you are featured.

For ghostwritten articles, it’s again your choice who the author is for each specific article.

There are times where you might want to be the author of the article and other times where you want to be quoted or featured.

The choice is always yours and is specific to each article.
2. How will my writer be trained?
Each writer is sourced specifically for you and then Flow pays for their 2-week training program. In the training program, the writer will learn about your Brand Platform and Brand Website.

Our operations team creates a knowledge base and a course in our learning management system for your brand so that writers go through a methodical onboarding.

If you have written a book, for example, the writer will read your book to fully understand the concepts you’ve presented, along with your writing style.

Same goes for any blog writing you may have done and social media posts.

By the time your writer first meets with you, they’re 100% up-to-speed on your brand.
3. How much time should I expect to spend on this?
You should plan on attending 1 meeting per week that last 15-30 minutes for your interview and another 15-30 minutes to review and provide final edits on your article and social media posts.

The whole purpose of Flow’s approach is to create… well, flow. That means we put a team around you who take your words and turn them into blog articles, social media posts, and graphics.
